Impano Sports partners with Sports and Education development initiative in Rwanda to give you a life changing experience this summer. 

 

 

The SEDI-RWANDA (Sports and education Development Initiative-Rwanda) is a non-governmental organization whose mission is to engage, educate and empower young people for their welfare through sports and entertainment programs. Given the need to strengthen the promotion of sports as a contributor to help the youth be the solvers of their own problems programs such as this have a valuable impact, Learn more about SEDI-RWANDA

 

 

By taking action along with Impano Sports and SEDI, you will experience an African culture first hand as you become a member of the community. You will be giving back to the children by helping to administer events and programs in the surrounding villages of Kigali, Rwanda.  You will have a huge role in organizing sports camps, clinics, community outreach projects, coaching, the evaluation and identification of young athletes,  visits to schools for the promotion of the Impano mission, which is to encourage participation in sports.

 

 

*of November 1, 2014, Rwanda requires that all U.S. citizens possess a visa at the time they request entry into Rwanda. A visa valid for 30 days for the purpose of tourism can be purchased for $30 upon arrival at Kigali International Airport or at Rwanda’s land borders. Accepted forms of payment include U.S. dollars printed after 2006 and credit cards issued by Visa. Volunteers need a Tourist Visa to enter Rwanda (US$30) as of 2016 available for purchase in the airport.

7 DAY SESSION:

Project Length: From 1 to 2 weeks        

Program Schedule:

Arrival Airport: Kigali (KGL)

Active Schedule: Monday to Friday 6 hours per day

All volunteers must be willing to pass a background check.

 

Age: Minimum 18 years or older

Airlines: Ethiopian Airlines, KLM, Delta, Qatar Air,

Vaccinations: Yellow Fever, Malaria, Hep A, typhoid www.nc.cdc.gov

 

         INCLUSIONS:

        Accommodation: Host Family or On Site Dorm Room

        Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner daily

        Arrival: Airport meet and greet by Impano Academy Staff

        Orientation: Project Overview and Kigali Orientation

        Support: Pre-trip written guide, In-country Impano Academy staff available 24/7

WHAT DO MY FEES PAY FOR?

When you volunteer with Impano Sports Academy your financial contribution supports the hundreds of needy communities where our volunteer programs are based.  Fees will go towards housing, meals and a donation to SEDI-Rwanda to help fund the program.
